If you or your partner love trains, you will absolutely not want to miss out on this fun museum! It spans a 15-acre railyard and features over 100 locomotives, passenger cars and more. Even if you or your partner aren’t directly train fanatics, their gift shop is still worth a visit – you can find a gift for the person in your life who loves trains!

Honestly, even if you don’t have a chance to stop in this museum, you’ll want to at least pass by it to see the building – it’s a work of art in itself. The museum boasts 9 curatorial departments, ranging from Architecture, to Photography, to Textile Art and Fashion, so there’s truly something for every art lover.

Learn about the ecosystem near Fort Collins and meet black-footed ferrets or play instruments at the Music and Sound Lab. What you do is up to you!

Living history museums can be an exciting way to spend a day with your partner. They tend to be dynamic, interactive experiences. The Littleton Museum is an excellent example of this! Plus, when you visit you actually get to experience two living history farm sites – one is an 1860s homestead farm and the other is an 1890s urban farm.

Ouray Alchemist Musueum – Ouray, CO

We are huge fans of unique museums and other date night venues, so it should come as no surprise that this museum of alchemy caught our eye! This museum, built in 2010, is a recreation of a Wild West Pharmacy. Note that tours must be booked in advance, so this can’t be a spontaneous visit. However, it’s definitely worth taking a few minutes to plan it out!
